Orangers en Fleurs: The concept
The Orange tree is the symbol of fertility, of abundance (because Orange trees produce flowers and fruit at the same time), of innocence and marriage by excellence, it is also the emblem of eternal love. Indeed it was customary for the bride to wear it or to have it in her bouquet on her wedding day. The custom initially started in ancient China but it was really Queen Victoria, one of Houbigant’s most prestigious clients, who secured the tradition by wearing a crown of orange blossom flowers on her wedding day in 1840.
